Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 2026
Plant Care Schedule is built privacy-first. The short version: your plant data lives on your device. We don't have a server, we don't have an account system, and we don't track you. This document explains that in more detail and tells you what your rights are under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
1. Data controller
The controller responsible for the limited personal data processing described below is:
freitagskind apps
Maximilian Freitag
Rudolf-Zenker-Str. 5
81377 MΓΌnchen
Germany
Email: freitagskindapps@gmail.com
2. What data we process
2.1 Plant and reminder data (on-device only)
Plants, watering intervals, last-watered timestamps, room assignments and notification schedules are stored exclusively on your device in a local SQLite database (Android Room). This data:
- never leaves your device,
- is not synced to any cloud,
- is not visible to us, and
- is deleted when you uninstall the app or clear app data.
Because we never receive this data, we are not the controller for it in the GDPR sense β you are the sole controller of your own plant data on your device.
2.2 Purchase data (RevenueCat)
The optional one-time β¬1.99 premium unlock is processed through RevenueCat, which we use as our billing processor on top of Google Play Billing. When you make or restore a purchase, the following limited data is processed:
- an anonymous user identifier generated by RevenueCat (not linked to your name or email),
-
entitlement and product identifiers (e.g.
premium_unlock,premium), - purchase metadata (timestamp, country, store), and
-
a cached flag indicating whether you currently hold the premium
entitlement (stored locally in
SharedPreferencesso the app works offline).
The legal basis is the performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) for the one-time purchase. Please review RevenueCat's Privacy Policy and Google Play's Privacy Policy for the details of how they process this data.
2.3 Crash data and analytics
We do not integrate any analytics SDK, advertising SDK, or third-party crash reporting service. We do not track usage, sessions, screens, or events. Google Play may itself collect crash reports per its own privacy policy β we do not control that and we do not receive personally identifiable information through it.
3. Permissions used by the app
- Notifications β required so the app can remind you to water your plants. You can revoke this permission at any time in Android's system settings.
- Billing (Google Play) β only used when you initiate the premium unlock or tap "Restore purchases".
- No internet for user data β the only outbound network call the app may make is to RevenueCat / Google Play servers during a purchase or restore action.
4. Cookies and trackers (on this website)
This GitHub Pages website does not set cookies, run analytics scripts, or use any third-party trackers. It is a static set of HTML and CSS files. Your IP address may be temporarily processed by GitHub Pages for the purpose of delivering the page β see GitHub's privacy statement for details.
5. Data retention
- On-device data: kept until you delete it or uninstall the app.
- Purchase records (RevenueCat / Google Play): kept as long as required by tax and bookkeeping law and by RevenueCat's / Google's own retention policies.
6. Your rights under the GDPR
As an EU/EEA resident you have the following rights regarding the personal data we (or our processors) hold about you:
- Right to access (Art. 15) β request a copy of the data we hold about you.
- Right to rectification (Art. 16) β ask us to correct inaccurate data.
- Right to erasure (Art. 17) β ask us to delete your data, subject to legal retention obligations.
- Right to restriction of processing (Art. 18).
- Right to data portability (Art. 20).
- Right to object (Art. 21).
- Right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (Art. 77), in particular in the EU member state of your habitual residence.
To exercise any of these rights, email freitagskindapps@gmail.com. For data we do not hold (your on-device plant list), you can exercise these rights yourself by editing, exporting or deleting data within the app, or by uninstalling it.
7. International data transfers
RevenueCat and Google may process data in countries outside the EU/EEA, including the United States. They rely on standard contractual clauses and other appropriate safeguards as described in their respective privacy policies.
8. Children
The app is suitable for general audiences but is not specifically directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time, for example when we change a third-party processor or when laws change. The current version is always available at this URL.
